Walk up counter pizzeria, very simple menu which is cool, pizza with limited topping options but just enough. Pizza rolls and calzones as well. Really good crust, very light and crispy, definitely different then traditional pizza in this area, but one of the best I've had in East tennessee Very friendly service and affordable, my wife and I got a 6 slice box and 3 beers and with tips it was 30. Highly recommend

I really enjoyed this place. Just know going in that it is a much different pizza experience. The dough and sauce are baked, but the toppings are put on after the baking and are cold. It isn't for everyone (my wife hated it), but if it is in your wheelhouse, you'll love it. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are large for what you get (6 slices for 15). It's got a nice atmosphere with a few tvs and clean dining area inside. The staff was very friendly, but I did feel like the wait time was a bit long since we were the only ones there, and it took quite some time to get our order. I'll definitely return as I really liked the unique style and take on pizza. Give it a shot if you're in the area, and you may just be pleasantly surprised.

Pizza is delicious!! I was born and raised on this kind of pizza, but no longer live anywhere near one. So excited there is a DiCarlos next to my daughters campus at UT Knox. We fill up every time we are there. It's not for everyone, because they put the cheese and toppings on cold, but I think it's the best kind of pizza!! The place is super cute, the staff is always kind and friendly. The only down side is it's a bit pricey compared to an Ohio valley store, but with the price of running a business in Knoxville and franchising from the DiCarlos family, it's understandable.

After attending a show, my husband, a friend, and I decided to visit DiCarlo’s Pizza on Gay Street in Knoxville. We shared a six-slice box and were pleasantly surprised by their unique pizza preparation method. Unlike traditional pizzas, DiCarlo’s adds cold cheese and toppings after baking the crust and sauce, resulting in a distinctive and delicious taste. The crust was perfectly baked, and the fresh, cool cheese provided a delightful contrast. The staff was friendly and efficient, enhancing our overall experience. If you’re looking for a different and tasty pizza experience in Knoxville, DiCarlo’s is worth a visit.

Update from the Steubenville native. Dicarlos pizza is always true to their Ohio Valley roots, and the koxville location is no different. This pizza isn't for everyone. As many Ohio staples, you will either love it or hate it. The crust is baked with the sauce to a perfect crispy perfection. Then the toppings are added COLD, which is why I say it's not for everyone. Sitting down and eating this pizza took me back to my grandma's front porch off two ridge rd, sitting there with my cousins stuffing our face. We got a box to eat there, and then after we were done for the day, we stopped back for two take and bake boxes as we live over in Erwin. We will definitely be making the drive to koxvile more often.

Different and delicious. I've long been aware of this restaurant's other locations well north of Knoxville and their unusual coal-miner style tray pizza, but have never been in the area of eastern Ohio/WV panhandle to try it. It might be one of the last remaining pizza styles I haven't tried, it's certainly one of the least common. I recommend setting your expectations aside and just enjoying this pizza for what it is: different but delicious. I tried a couple slices the first time, and had to go back the next day to get six more. Best eaten right when they give it to you, to best enjoy the contrast between the hot crispy crust with delicious sauce and the cool shredded smoked provolone and pepperoni. The one area of improvement needed is beverage selection. What they have now is very limited and odd choices. I would have loved to have had a coke zero to go with my meal. (please note: the hours in my photo are not the hours they are currently open as the business gets staffed up. I recommend calling first to check current hours of operations.)

Exactly what we wanted after a day of playing tourist. Quick couple of slices of pizza and then enjoying their outdoor seating across from the Christmas tree.

Recently have visited twice and have enjoyed each time. The first time I was wondering why the pizza came out without the cheese melted and the pepperonis were cold and then I learned they bake the crust and the sauce and then add the cheese and pepperonis on after. The first time we had a good bit of cheese that was not even remotely melted but today’s visit was different! The cheese was melted way more than the last visit. The prices are very reasonable and we will definitely once again be back! The little dining area has been clean both times as well! I also like the fact that they use provolone cheese instead of mozzarella and it is 100% fresh cheese! Definitely an added little gem to the downtown area!
